What a waste this day has been, I’ve done nothing besides watch Vh1’s 100 Greatest Songs Of The 80’s, sleep, eat, and get some loving (can’t complain about that). Oh well, sometimes it’s nice to just bum it, especially on Sundays.

Krissy and I sleeping on the couch. So shweet.

If you love coffee house drinks such as iced coffees, or tea slushes—these drink recipes will hit the spot—without busting your budget! Hopefully, I get a blender soon so I can try them out myself. They’d be perfect for a summer day, or treating some guests.
Java-Nut Shake
Compare to Starbuck’s Java Chip Frappuccino
In blender, mix 2 cups ice cubes, 1/2 cup cold double-brewed nut-flavored coffee, 1/2 cup chocolate milk, 1/3 cup chocolate syrup and 1-2 Tbs. superfine sugar until smooth. If desired, garnish with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, chocolate syrup and a chocolate coffee bean. Makes 2 servings.
Mango Chai Tea Slushy
Compare to Coffe & Tea Leaf’s Mucho Mango frutea
In blender, mix 1 cup crushed ice (to make crushed ice, place ice cubes in a plastic food storage bag, seal and pound with a meat mallet or rolling pin), 1/2 cup cold-brewed chai tea (preferably white chai), 1/2 cup mango sorbet and 1 tsp. lemon juice until smooth. If desired, garnish with mango and lime slices. Makes 2 servings.

I’m sure some of you may have already seen pictures of my new doll on my Flickr account, but I’ve also been wanting to talk about her here… The cute little doll in the picture to the left is a vintage Strawberry Shortcake doll from 1979, she’s the very first edition with flat hands. I had been wanting a Strawberry Shortcake for a long time, but I put off buying one because I was being picky and wanted one mint in the box. Then I realized a box was unnecessary because I would be taking her out of the box to take pictures anyway. I got her off eBay for around $20, which is a pretty good deal considering she’s basically mint. Even her hat was still factory attached to her head, and might I had it was a real pain in the arse to remove that plastic!
She’s probably one of the more cuter dolls I own, but I think the reason I like her so much is because she brings back childhood memories… I remember my sister and I had a little Strawberry Shortcake stove and I played with it all the time. It was green and had little strawberry knobs…at least I think it was green… It’s hard to remember but the point is I loved that stove!
My sis and I also had a record player, and besides jamming out to my favorite childhood song “Mack The Knife” I listened to a lot of those read-along story book records and had a few Strawberry Shortcake ones. So, I had a little Strawberry Shortcake in my childhood, and anything that reminds me of those precious times makes me happy. I would also like to get a few other vintage dolls from the SSC collection including Orange Blossom and Lemon Meringue.
Seriously, I have soo many dolls on my wish list right now. Most of them are vintage - there’s just something about owning a vintage doll - I guess just knowing it’s older than I am, and the rareness.
I actually only own five dolls in total right now, I want to keep expanding my collection it’s just that some dolls are so expensive! Plus, I need a cabinet or something to keep them clean and display them nicely.
Even though I don’t have the cash flow to buy them right now, here are some dolls I wish for and will hopefully get someday:
