Back from the MI
After about 26 days in Michigan, I can honestly say I’m relieved to be back home. Although I did enjoy myself very much it was just too long. I missed the boyfriend, my car, and my own bed! I’m very grateful I got to see my family and a couple friends, and to the people that didn’t make an attempt to see me can go screw themselves. I would have traveled to see them, but I had a limited amount of money, (it sucked, especially with my favorite mall located up there!) and friendships shouldn’t always be one sided.
The best part of my vaca was the three hour trip my mom, sisters, nieces, and I took up north. I got to visit a lot of places I went to as a child, I even went in the backyard of my late grandma’s house. I spent so much time there growing up and it felt weird being there—almost like a dream! It was a little depressing because no one has lived in the house for a few years and it’s falling apart. Oh well, what can I do? If I had $50,000 I would buy the place but I’m far from having that kind of bank.
I took a lot of pictures which I’ve spent today uploading… Here’s a look at some random ones:

My niece Kylah and I on the fat log located at Iargo Springs. She throws up the peace sign while I “fly.”

One of the waterfalls at Iargo. I’ve always loved to stick my tongue in it and drink it.

This has always looked so beautiful to me, and the picture doesn’t even do it justice. Also at Iargo.

It’s my momma holding my neice Serena. Ma’s lookin’ pretty damn good for turning 50 this year.

My sister and I took the kids to the Eastern Michigan fair. I basically just went on all the kiddie rides—it didn’t bother me because most carnival rides make me dizzy at my old age.

This is the creepy historic Seminary located in Fenton, Michigan. Check out the larger photo here. I guess it was a catholic school back in the day, and after that it was a home to ministers, then it was a nursing home. I used to think it was an old asylum for the insane, but I think it scares me even more knowing it was a home to ministers. I found this picture of the inside. Gives me major willies!

Riding the train at the Au Sable Valley Railroad. The fam and I used to ride it almost every year.

At the airport with Aunt Shirley before leaving Michigan. Um… I got a tan in Michigan and I live in Florida. I do things backwards. I got my hair highlighted and cut while up there. Thanks ma!

Your hair looks great in that last picture! I used to have my hair quite similar to that… I miss having highlights! But my hair grows really fast so it’s expensive to keep up with getting my hair re-highlighted.
Looks like you had a great vacation!

I’m glad you had a great time. Welcome back. As much as it’s nice to be away from home, there’s no other place like home sweet home.
Iargo is a beautiful place. The photos are lovely. You’re Mom looks really young. Not 50 at all. And you’re niece is such a cutie.
The mousse doesn’t seem to work with my hair. On a daily basis it’s approximately 34 degrees Celsius so your hair tends to sort of dry out and become frizzy with the humidity.

The waterfall photo is absolutely beautiful! I’m glad you had such a good time visiting with everyone and spending time with your family. That’s always fun to do. The pictures look like you had a great time, and I love your new hightlights and haircut. Gorgeous!

I love that old “creepy” house. I think it would be a cool restoration project. Hey, don’t feel bad - I have lived in Florida for 13 years and I am rarely very tan. I work too much and rarely go to the beach which is 15 minutes down the road. I love your new highlights - I was only brave enough to do that once. Never again! My hair is just a shade away from being black, so I am pretty limited in my color choices for highlights. I am glad that you had fun in Michigan. I’ve never been there, but from your pictures it looks beautiful!

Going away for 26 days is definitely a long time!! I’m surprised you were gone for that long!! It didn’t even feel that long at all.
I don’t know if I would be able to do that, go away for that long of a period of time. But it seems like you had a lot of fun. The waterfall definitely caught my eye first, and it seems like you had some fun times out in the wilderness!
