O-Gloss by Smashbox is a newer lip gloss that goes on clear, and then reacts with your personal skin chemistry to create your own custom shade of pink. O-Gloss is also loaded with microcirculating Goji Berry-C Complex™ and ginkgo biloba, pomegranate seed antioxidants, revitalizing marine botanicals and moisturizing avocado oil for lustrous shine.
I first saw the ad for O-Gloss in Allure magazine, and, being the lip gloss junkie I am I knew I’d have to try it out. I made a trip to Sephora and $70 dollars later I had scored myself some O-Gloss. No. O-Gloss isn’t $70 dollars, it’s $22 dollars, but I can’t go to Sephora and only purchase one item!
So here’s the question…does O-Gloss actually work? Yep:
The picture doesn’t exactly do the gloss justice. But, when I use this stuff it changes my lips to a nice shade of pink. When I apply more gloss I get more color. I love O-Gloss! It glides on smooth, and it’s not to sticky. It doesn’t really have a scent, so there’s no overpowering smell.
O-Gloss may be a bit of a splurge but I think it’s worth it. Although, I have read about a similar product called mark Glossblossom by Avon and it supposely does the same thing. Plus, it’s only six dollars. Maybe I’ll have to purchase it and compare the two.
I’m sure a lot of people have seen the commercial for the new Neutrogena Wave, when I first saw it I thought it looked interesting, and I wanted to try it out. While browsing Walgreen’s the other day I saw it on their shelf for $13.99, so I threw it in my cart.
The Wave comes in three colors; pink, blue, and green. It’s very compact and easy to handle. It’s waterproof so you can use it in the shower safely. It comes with 14 single use disposable pads…something I’m not to thrilled about. I hate creating more garbage, and buying refills at $10 dollars a pop gets expensive.
To use the Wave you stick one of the pads on the velcro like head, and push the button. Then the whole thing vibrates. I’ve used it about five times now. I really like it! After the first use my skin was noticeably softer, and had that cool, fresh, and clean feeling. I feel like it really cleans deep down. I haven’t experienced any breakouts either, which can be a possibility when switching cleansers. I think my skin is actually clearer since I started using it, and has less dry patches. I have noticed a slight stingy sensation while using the Wave, so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with sensitive skin.
Like the background music? It’s from the 1970’s porn collection.
Overall, I really like the Wave. Will I keep using it after I run out of pads? I don’t know. The Wave is great, but I don’t know if it’s worth buying the refills.
Pros: Small compact design, noticeably softer skin, cleans deep, and pretty colors.
Cons: expensive disposable pads, slight stinging sensation, and it uses batteries.
