Get coffee house treats at home!
If you love coffee house drinks such as iced coffees, or tea slushes—these drink recipes will hit the spot—without busting your budget! Hopefully, I get a blender soon so I can try them out myself. They’d be perfect for a summer day, or treating some guests.
Java-Nut Shake
Compare to Starbuck’s Java Chip Frappuccino
In blender, mix 2 cups ice cubes, 1/2 cup cold double-brewed nut-flavored coffee, 1/2 cup chocolate milk, 1/3 cup chocolate syrup and 1-2 Tbs. superfine sugar until smooth. If desired, garnish with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, chocolate syrup and a chocolate coffee bean. Makes 2 servings.
Mango Chai Tea Slushy
Compare to Coffe & Tea Leaf’s Mucho Mango frutea
In blender, mix 1 cup crushed ice (to make crushed ice, place ice cubes in a plastic food storage bag, seal and pound with a meat mallet or rolling pin), 1/2 cup cold-brewed chai tea (preferably white chai), 1/2 cup mango sorbet and 1 tsp. lemon juice until smooth. If desired, garnish with mango and lime slices. Makes 2 servings.
White Chocolate Frappé
Compare to Starbuck’s White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino
In microwave-safe bowl, microwave 1/3 cup white chocolate chips on high in 10-second intervals, stirring after each, until melted. Gradually whisk in 1 cup vanilla soy milk. In blender, mix 2 cups ice cubes, milk mixture, 1 Tbs. superfine sugar and 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract until smooth. If desired, garnish with whipped cream, sprinkles and white chocolate shavings. Makes 2 servings.
Frozen Strawberry Green Tea
Compare to Dunkin’ Donuts’ Strawberry Fruit Coolatta
In blender, mix 1 cup crushed ice, 3/4 cup cold-brewed green tea, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries and 1 Tbs. honey until smooth. If desired, add additional honey to taste, and garnish with sliced strawberry, lemon slice and mint sprig. Makes 2 servings.
Caramel Coffee Freeze
Compare to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s Caramel Ice Blended
In blender, mix 1 1/2 cups crushed ice, 3/4 cup dulce de leche ice cream and 1/2 cup cold double-brewed coffee until smooth. If desired, garnish with whipped cream, ground cinnamon and caramel topping. Makes 2 servings.
Deliciousness.

I want to try to Java Nut Shake, it sounds yummy. I haven’t been to Star bucks in so long. Paying $5 for a drink is sort of like nails on a chalkboard for me right now…ick.

The White Chocolate Frappé sounds soooo good. As far as coffee goes….every and anytime I try a coffee product, or just plain ole coffee, I have to go take a shit within 10 minutes.
