A great plugin
I’m sure a lot of people have read on this blog about an annoying family member of mine who I just couldn’t stop from visiting my site? She had been causing so much trouble, like emailing people my link so they could leave comments calling me a “c*nt.” She even had the nerve to email Ann (whom she doesn’t even know) to “defend” herself against this post, which I didn’t think was all that bad. All I wanted was to be left alone… Well, now I don’t have to worry about her anymore, unless she changed her internet provider or something…and that would be totally nuts!
See, before I had tried blocking her IP address, but it turned out she had a dynamic IP so it always changed…then I realized the first two numbers of her IP kept showing up the same. So I tried just blocking those two numbers, but then the second number changed! I didn’t want to block all IP’s starting with 68 because then I would be blocking a lot of people from my site.
Thanks to the WP Ban Plugin I have her banned completely! The plugin lets you ban users from IP, IP Range, host name and referer url. I know her hosting provider’s address and that it will never change, and that’s what I’m using to ban her from my site. The plugin also shows you statistics on how many times the user tries to access your website, since yesterday she has tried to visit 11 times! I bet she’s flipping out right now! Haha! I wouldn’t be surprised if she goes to the library just to visit. I’m so grateful for this plugin, hopefully I won’t have to worry about her anymore. If you have a nuisance visiting your wordpress blog, I highly recommend the plugin.
I just wish I knew about it a long time ago…
xoxo, Crystal

I’m glad you found a way to block her. I’m sorry you have such a rotten person in your life. She sounds horrid, to call her husbands flesh and blood such names. Good riddance!

I’m glad you got this situation resolved. I’ll have to keep that plugin as a reminder just in case I need it in the near future. I do hope that you don’t have to put up with her anymore. :-)

That is awesome and hilarious. How can an adult be so pathetic.

Love that plugin! It’s been extremely useful to me in the last couple of months!

I agree with Katy. That plugin is the most useful thing I have on my lists of plugins. So many prowlers and creeps bugging me I had to stop it! I hope she leaves you alone all together. I get so embarassed when I look at my logs and see this particular person’s ip address allllllll over the place. All I can think is, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Really, he makes me sad. You know, some people just have to know everything you’re doing at every moment of the day–and it’s a little sickening.
I hope things are okay now though! But still, how embarassing and lawl at this:
“Seriously lady, don’t you have anything better to do with your time then come here? Can’t you go cook, clean, run a flippin’ marathon? I must say I’m very flattered that I consume so much of your life.”
Haha! You tell her. :p

Dont you just love WP plug-ins?! While I’ve never had the need to ban people from accessing my site (I’m just praying my folks never discover it, haha), I’ll keep this plug-in in mind. Hurrah!

oh the internet drama
That’s kind of pathetic, doesn’t she have anything better to do? I’m glad you finally were able to block her, I hope she doesn’t figure out how to get around it.

I’m glad she’s gone! It’s really, really sad how pathetic and immature an adult can be. I hope I never have step parents, lol. I’d end up in jail.

The same thing happened to me, only it was my mom. She somehow found my site and we NEVER talk to each other and she read all this stuff and it was so awkward. I tried banning her, but it was back in the days of dial up, so it was hard to ban by IP. I also tried to switch domains completely and start over, but who knows if she found the new one or not. Now, I just don’t think about it. If she finds something offensive on my site, it’s her fault for reading it hehe.

I am so glad that you found a way to keep her out of here! You don’t need that immaturity or the negative energy. <3
