It doesn’t look the same as it does in the magazine
In the April issue of Glamour magazine there is a four page photo spread called No more blah makeup! GO BRIGHT. It features models wearing bright almost neon colors like yellows, greens, blues, and so on… One page called Megawatt eyes stood out to me most, the photo on the page shows a model wearing bright emerald green eyeshadow, and I thought to myself “I wanna copy this look!” I figure green looks good on me because I have green-hazel eyes, and it goes well with the blond streaks in my hair. The magazine says to try MAC eyeshadow in “Bitter” and only apply it just into the crease. Then, it says to swipe green metallic liner inside the bottom lashes, the only problem is that they don’t clarify what brand or color of liner to use, so I ended up trying MAC Technakohl liner in “Jade Way.” So… here’s a comparison of the magazine photo and a photo of my eye:

Left: Magazine Photo, Right: Photo of my eye.
Am I missing something, or do the eyeshadows look nothing alike? Good job Glamour magazine! I officially hate you. No, it’s fine, next time I want to copy a look out of a magazine I’ll just pick out the color myself. To me, I think Urban Decay eyeshadow in “Mildew” would match the magazine photo. As for the eyeliner, I could always substitute it with the eyeshadow. Overall, I am happy with the MAC eyeshadow even though it doesn’t look like the magazine photo. I think it makes my eyes look more round, I even took a bunch O’ pictures wearing it.

I’m such a conceited whore.

I still think that’s really pretty, especially if you did a little bit underneath as well for nighttime. Sigh you are so pretty. What do you use on your face? You should make a skincare post!

I think it actually suits your eyes more! I love it
I so wish I could get away with colored eyeshadow, but I can’t, considering my eyes to too dark hazel to work it.
I’m sure the lighting they used on the photoshoot made the shadow look darker.

Haha I’ve never tried any makeup tips from a magazine. I never bother. :p It looks good on you though.

Yours definitely looks better. It looks great on you though. Very lovely indeed. I’m too scared to try those bright colors, hence I stick to my neutral warm colors.

That model in the picture looks like she is wearing several different M.A.C. eyeshadows… It looks like she is wearing “Swimming” or “Humid” with “Bitter.” Those are the most common green shadows by M.A.C. that can look similar to what this model is wearing. Swimming and Humid are the darker green, while the lighter areas would be Bitter.
Can you tell I am a huge M.A.C. fan? xD Also the reason I am broke…

That looks really good on you and you did a good job applying it! I purchased Mac’s Chrome Yellow a couple months ago because I love the color and the way it looks on other people but I still haven’t used it yet!!! I’m gonna try it out sometime this week although I have a feeling it’s not gonna look that great with my skin tone. =S

I looove yellow eyeshadow so much. It really doesn’t look like the green, but it’s stunning in itself. I love using bright hues like blue, yellow, and colors people don’t use too much. I like to experiement with makeup.
Thanks for the warning though. I’ll have to try that on my MAX factor. I think I have a bit of yellow that same shade.
