Strawberry Shortcake
I’ve been craving Strawberry Shortcake lately, so today I went to the grocery store and picked up some strawberries and the little dessert shells… I made it the easy way by cutting up the strawberries, then adding about a half cup of sugar and mixing it together. Afterwards, if you let it sit in the refrigerator for a few hours it makes it’s own juice. Add some whipped cream and “ta-da” you get the perfect summer dessert. I love strawberries. Hopefully one day I’ll not be lazy and make the cake part myself..
I feel bad for not blogging much lately, I’m either on plurk (which is so addicting), or trying not to spend so much time on the computer. The screen has been killing my eyes! All those hours I’ve spent on the computer since I was thirteen is finally taking it’s toll on my eyesight. I remember when my dad used to call me “computer egg-head” because I was on the computer so much. I still think it’s better than watching the television all day… I’ve also been lacking on blogging ideas, I think of topics to write about but never do for the fear of sounding stupid. If anyone has any ideas feel free to share. :-)
James bought my plane tickets yesterday!! I’m so excited to finally get to see my family and meet my new niece Serena. I’m leaving the 26th of July and staying about three weeks, and won’t be back until the 21st of August. It will be nice to get away from this humid rainy state! I wasn’t going to fly because I’m super scared, but I think I’d rather do that than be stuck on a bus for a day and a half. It’s about a two hour flight to Michigan—I’ll probably read a book or something to pass the time. I even had a freaky dream where I was looking out a window and saw a plane crash! I wish someone could carry me onto the plane sleeping, then just wake up up when we arrived in Michigan. Yes…I’m crazy.

I agree with Katy.. I don’t get the hype for plurk, and it’s just not my cup of tea (so i’ll stick with twitter) lol
.. this is when we need a transporter so we don’t need to fly or drive, just pop to anywhere you wanna go fast.. You’ll do fine!
Now you just made me hungry..

omg, you’re killing me here! That Strawberry Short Cake looks so yummy!! Ive never made a SSC before, I’ll prolly try making one soon.
I definitely understand the whole computer screen messing up your eyes. I have been using a computer for an insanely embarassing amount of time, and now I can’t see without my glasses on…blah.

I think its super you get to go back and see your family. All my family is in Tennessee and i live in Kansas and its about a 7 hour flight from here to where i lived. Im hoping i can go back soon. I miss everyone badly. I understand completely about being home sick. That cake looks yummy and i always buy that strawberry sauce (the red stuff) and mix with mine but your idea seems like a good one. So next time Ill do that. Cheaper that way to. I felt the same way you do when i first got on a plane and i was scared out of my mind but its actually fun. I think anyways so i might be the weird one. haha

AW You’re so lucky to get a nice vacation!! My mom’s flying to the Philippines next month and will be there for two months! I wish I could go with her so I can see my 2 sisters. But oh well, I have plans for next year so I just gotta wait patiently until then.
I love meeting new members of the family!!! I know Serena is as cute as you!!! Take lots of pictures!
Oh, and I’ve been wanting to make those shortcakes for the longest time! They’re always in the supermarket all together so you can just grab the cake, strawberries, the glaze and whip. HAHAHA!! Tempting VERY!!!!

As big of a of strawberries I am, I’m surprised that I’ve never actually tried Strawberry Shortcake.
Plurk is so addicting.
A lot of people seem to be sticking with Twitter, but I use both. The trick that I use is Ping.fm, which allows you to feed your Tweets and Plurks at the same time.

Oh wow that looks delicious! I love strawberry shortcake. =] I hope you have a great vacation and enjoy spending time with your family. Just listen to music on the flight and maybe that will relax you. It seems to work for me when I’m freaking out on the plane. =]

I have a feeling that the computer is the reason for my bad eyesight too. But I have to be on the computer pretty much every day. I work on the computer..so I have no choice. :/ Well, I cold get a job doing something else, but I love what I do.
I’m sure your plain ride will be great. You are less likely to die on a plain than in a car. Now just dont become afraid of cars. lol

Aww don’t be so scared. Two hours go by fast. You could even ring in for the air hostess to come check on you =) You’ll be fine my dear. But that is exciting news. I hope you have a goodtime. Three weeks is a long time =) But will be fun fun fun =) Oou and that cake indeed looks good. I never knew that if you stuck it in the fridge it makes it’s own juice. What do you know!
