“Sheer” Your Toys
I’ve wanted to try out gray nail polish ever since Janine first posted about it on her blog. I just loved the whole idea of it. I think gray can mesh well with almost any outfit. Finally I got lucky after Christmas and scored a bottle of OPI’s “Sheer” your toys for 50% off. And today, I applied it to my nails for the first time.

The polish is a nice shade of gray, but I’d prefer something a little bit lighter like OPI’s Moon Over Mumbai. Still, I quite happy with the turnout, especially since I only paid $4 for it.
Even though the gray polish trend started in the Fall, it won’t be leaving us anytime soon. Zoya has released a gray shade apart of their Spring ’09 collection, and MAC has included a little gray in their highly anticipated Hello Kitty limited edition collection.
For Spring I’m usually a pastel kind of gal, but some of these colors I’ve been seeing in upcoming releases are so unique and fab that I’ll have to try some of them out! I’m loving the bold blue color of Mesmerize by Essie. I also like almost the entire line of OPI’s South Beach Spring collection:

Check out the swatches here and here.
My faves are Done out in Deco, Feelin’ Hot-Hot-Hot!, OPI On Collins Ave, and Bronzed To Perfection.
What nail polish shades do you like for Spring ’09?

I want to make/try a coral color. I like neutrals the best though, so I really want to try a gray like that, otherwise maybe stick with basic black. I love my yellow but then in pics it looks almost tacky to me, maybe because mine is a bit too neon.
Your nails look *great*. I can never get my shaped that well unless I go to a pro.

Love those nails. We don’t have spring here though but i am going to stick with the purple.

I think grey is classic!
I’m kind of liking the lavender color. I always think I’m going to like a pink or coral but I never do once I buy it.

This post makes me wish I had the ability to stop biting my nails

You have good nails. Mine suck. OPI is my fave! It’s really the only nail polish that lasts a long time on me because I constantly have some sort of cleaning fluid on my hands. My favorite color is Blushingham Palace. Lol, I love the names they come up with. Keys to my Karma is a good one too.

I really like the grey polish on you! You have great nails. And as for the new polishes, I really like the Sally Hansen extreme wear. They have some great brights for toes!

The color is cute, but I usually paint the tips only on mine (I get my nails done regularly.) I paint mine a platinum pearl where it does not look white nor looks silvery. It actually looks a lot more natural than a regular American manicure. Occasionally I might try a light pink.

The gray nail polish looks great on you! I really love the colors of the collection, especially Conga-line Coral, though I’d also love to try colors outside my comfort zone, like Opi on Collins Ave

Oooh, I really like the shade that you used!! I think maybe I’ll try a similar shad like that, next time I feel like painting my nails. With the flash, it looks great!

Wow, I love your nails! I never would have thought to try grey nail polish myself, but it really does seem to work. That collection of OPI nail polishes for the spring line all look fab to me too; my faves are “Party in my Cabana” and “Conga-Line Coral”, but that’s just me…I like muted sort of shades, lol. Anyway, love the site, I’m off to read more now! Toodles!

Oh, your nails look pretty. I used to wear pink, green, yellow, and gray nail polish but now I just stick to one color: red.

Wow. That gray doesn’t look too shabby. I love OPI nail polish. I have a ton here and my mother works as at a nail saloon so every once in a while she’ll bring a pretty color home for me.
Nice nails. :]

Ohh beautiful nails you have! And very nice colors in that line of polish – I haven’t painted my nails in a long time

I love pretty much all the colours. I’m always drawn to nail polish, I just wish my nails were as nice as yours so I could pull off those colours!
*Envy*

Have you tried China Glaze nail polish? They’re cheaper than OPI, but just as good of quality. This spring, I’m going to make it a point to wear bright nail polish, rather than my usual black.

I like the no flash picture.
They don’t have Black?! Hmph.

I’m really diggin’ the gray. I’ve never worn gray polish myself, but when I was younger I was obsessed with silver! My toenails AND fingernails were constantly a metallic silver from 2000 to at least 2002.
And I’m loving the other colors. During flip-flop season I love bright, vibrant colors as opposed to pastels. I would totally wear almost every color from the second row in the pic.
Take care!

I like to stick to pinks. I love the Feelin Hot Hot Hot one. Very lovely shade.

That gray looks stellar on you

Hmmm… I suppose gray does go well with everything… I had never thought about it before, but now I think I shall paint my nails gray. Quite a nice color!

I agree that it goes with many outfits, but I don’t know if I would wear it. I prefer bright nail polish. Right now, my nails are lime green.
